He specialises in the areas of retirement planning, asset allocation and cash-flow management.
His other interest includes the study of human behaviour, especially related to financial planning and investment. He is fascinated by the differing natural inclinations and behaviours that people exhibit when it comes to their personal finances. He has delivered talks on ‘Financial Personalities’ to students at Monash University and INTI University, as well as the Shell Women’s Action Network (SWAN).
In 2014, Ian was also invited to be a panel judge at the Economic & Leadership Forum at Taylors University (Malaysia), on the topic of Economic Development, which included solutions to increasing the personal financial well-being of Malaysians.
More recently in 2016, he was invited by Lean In Malaysia to speak on financial planning for young professionals.
Ian read Actuarial Science at the London School of Economics (LSE) and now holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ qualification.
